Hi there - I'm JulieMarie, owner and decorator behind Frosted Jules Cookies! Lots of people asked how I first got started baking and decorating cookies - it was a journey that started in middle school. As a kid, I was a member of 4-H and one of my projects was cake decorating. This was where my knowledge of and love for holding a pastry bag, mixing icing colors, and bringing a design to life in dessert form first came from. Over the years, I made a lot of cakes (even my own birthday cakes!), dabbled in cupcakes, and then in 2012, found my true passion: decorated sugar cookies.
The very first set of cookies I made was for a Halloween party and soon, I was baking and decorating cookies for every special occasion and just because! After much encouragement from family and friends, I finally decided to make this a "thing" and opened Frosted Jules Cookies in 2016. There have been so many people who have believed in me, supported me, and taste-tested for me along the way - I'm forever grateful. Most of all, thank you to my customers who trust me to bring a sweet touch to their special events and enable me to nurture my right brain. When I'm not in the kitchen baking and decorating, you can find me at the University of Colorado, where I'm a professor with the Presidents Leadership Class. I also enjoy international travel and spending time with my husband, Michael, and our dogs. We love to volunteer with Guide Dogs for the Blind as puppy raisers (another 4-H project turned lifelong passion pursuit!) |
